“Due to Covid, everything seems to be a first — first game of the season was our Senior Day — all the players were wearing Bulldog masks thanks to our booster club — and the kids were playing in a high school game for the first time in seven months,” Irvington head coach Beth Staropoli said. “Needless to say, it was a great day.”
The Bulldogs battled visiting Briarcliff to a scoreless draw on Oct. 17. Mizrachi made two saves for Irvington.
“The team played very well. We just couldn’t put the ball in the cage,” Staropoli said. “Overall, I was pleased, as they are playing hard and continuing to grow.”
The Bulldogs closed out the week with a 2-0 loss at North Salem on Oct. 19. Skylar Bender opened the scoring for the Tigers, who received an insurance tally from Krista DeModna. Mizrachi made a dozen saves in goal for Irvington.
