On Oct. 31, Beacon Hill Road and neighboring parents (Powder Horn Road, Captain Honeywell Road, Chimney Pot Lane, Major Appleby Road, Highland Drive) presented a safe and socially distant Halloween. Those of us who wished to participate were requested to set up a table of wrapped treats at the end of the driveway so the neighborhood children, with adult supervision, could trick or treat safely from 5-7 p.m. The event was an enormous success. It was comforting and “inspiriting” to see and hear youthful noise, excitement, and enthusiasm. The renaissance of our neighborhood. Joyous!

Thank you to the wise, inspired, and dedicated adults who hatched this idea, showing the world that with a well-thought-out and sensible plan, we can all still enjoy these special days while remaining safely and socially distant. May this be the last Covid-19-oween ever.
