The Friends of the Dobbs Ferry Library are pleased to announce a philanthropic program, Mary’s Yarns, in honor of Mary Caruso, a past Friends president.

Under the leadership of Anne Souza, knitters and crocheters are invited to create scarves to be donated to people in need. Acrylic yarn will be available on Oct. 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a table in front of the Dobbs Ferry Library at 55 Main Street. You are welcome to use your own yarn and pattern, however all scarves will be washed before distribution so materials must be washable. Completed scarves can be dropped off at the library until Saturday, Nov. 14.

Mary wanted to support and enhance the Library’s crafting programming that had enriched her sense of community. To this end, she has included a gift in her estate to the Friends of the Dobbs Ferry Library endowment.

Please note that we have an extended family of friends and supporters, and you do not have to be a Dobbs Ferry resident to participate in any of the Mary’s Yarns programs.

Thank you, and we hope you will join us.
