We are pleased to announce that the Friends of the Hastings Library annual Spring Used Book Sale will be back. Scheduled for Saturday, June 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the sale will feature a wide array of novels, mysteries, biographies, cookbooks, Father’s Day gift ideas, children’s books, DVDs, and much more. What better way to stock up for summer reading?

Modeling the success of our fall sale, we are again going to set up in the library parking lot, regulate capacity, and require face coverings.

Residents can donate books and DVDs (no CDs, please) by dropping them off at the library, from May 17 through June 3. With the library’s doors now open, it’s the perfect opportunity to drop in for some time-limited, in-person browsing, or to enjoy the view from the outdoor deck (call 914-478-3307 to reserve a seat).

A quick guide to donating:

Please make sure books are in good condition (no yellowing, moldy, or torn pages). We’ve found that no one wants textbooks, or business, technology, medical, travel, and self-care books more than five years old, so please dispose of those appropriately.

This book sale is an important event for the Friends in terms of raising money to help the library continue to fund children’s and other programming. We are grateful for your support, and we look forward to seeing you on June 5.
