Welcome to another beginning of a new school year. On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the teachers of the Dobbs Ferry school system will be there to welcome back our students either in-person, virtually via Google Meet, or a combination of the academic methods of instruction.

We truly respect all the efforts that our board of education, the district administration, and all the building principals have made toward the reopening of our schools. However, we the Dobbs Ferry United Teachers believe that Gov. Andrew Cuomo has given the school districts an impossible task and financial burden to complete the reopening of school by Sept. 8, with limited time, resources, and funds.

Please be assured that the entire faculties (of each building) will warmly welcome all students while we lead them through social and emotional understandings as well as the best academic instruction, as always.

School, classrooms, and teachers will look different, but we are still the same teachers that you have entrusted for so many years.

We will all get through this together.

President, Dobbs Ferry United Teachers
