I want to thank the Dobbs Ferry Board of Education for approving a resolution in support of the veterans’ tax exemption. I am very grateful for their careful deliberation and consideration of this benefit for our proud and worthy veterans.

The financial benefit is welcomed, but the respect and appreciation they showed to our local veterans is the most important message they sent when they approved the resolution.

I also want to extend a special note of gratitude to the superintendent of schools, Lisa Brady, for her support and assistance in making this happen. She was extremely helpful, from the time I approached her with my request for adoption of the exemption to the time the board approved the resolution.

I never miss the Dobbs Ferry Memorial Day service at the high school. I am especially pleased this year that the action taken by the board of education will reinforce the respect and admiration that this village and school district has for the service and sacrifice made by our veterans.
