I did not write CRT (Culturally Responsive Teaching) in my letter to the Enterprise on June 25. I asked if government money to the schools had a string attached that included teaching CRT. Mea culpa if it was not clear I was referring to Critical Race Theory. However, someone at the Enterprise decided to clarify CRT... however, incorrectly. I appreciate that this has been corrected by the Enterprise, but I was really upset about the error. I have no idea what culturally responsive teaching is. Is it really a thing? I would just like some transparency regarding the curriculum in our schools. I am of the belief that children should be taught “subjects” — like reading, writing, and ‘rithmetic, etc. I don't believe the schools should be responsible for how our children think. Also, I don't appreciate someone adding false information to my letter.
