Scott Ritch of Dobbs Ferry passed away on Jan. 21 at age 53.
Scott was born on Feb. 1, 1969, in Yonkers, to Robert and Mary Ann Ritch. He was married to Laura Ritch on Sept. 25, 1998, and they had two children, Caitlyn, now 22, and Ryan, 20.
Scott began his career in the beverage industry in South Florida, where he worked for Arizona Iced Tea Co. and Hansen Beverage Co. He then relocated back to New York, where he worked for Labatt Blue and InBev, before he joined Southern Glazer’s Wines & Spirits as an area manager, where he worked for the past 20 years. Scott took pride in his work and loved his co-workers like family.
Scott was an avid athlete who enjoyed playing football, basketball, and baseball. He also loved family vacations to the beach, camping, boating, and cabins on the lake. He liked the simple life, especially sitting around his backyard fire pit with friends and family, talking and laughing into the night.
Scott cherished his family above all else. He was proud of his children and was present for every event in their lives. He also adored his extended family and friends. He was a friendly person with an amazing sense of humor.
Scott is survived by his wife of 25 years; his cherished children; his mother, Mary Ann; his siblings and their wives, Robert (Carolyn), Edward (Jacqueline), and Kevin (Brenda); his brother-in-law, Scott (Alaine); his nieces and nephews Kristin, Todd, Eddie, Jennifer, Jamie, Tommy, Sophia, Kylie, Adam, and Brooke; and his grand-niece and nephew Rhiannon and Chase. He was predeceased by his father and by his nephew, Nolan.
